Our Concours Title Holders Throughout 2008

This is the first Austin Healey the Metcalf's have owned. Bill purchased a collection of bits in 2004 and through the intervening period to May 2007, Bill, his brother Bob, club mate Bruce Dixon and professional restorer Hardy Kuhn transformed that collection into an outstanding car that set the benchmark score at this year's Concours D'Elegance.

This car has swept all before it in recent years setting our benchmark score at our Concours two years in a row ('05 & '06) and others agree. For example, this car was the Outright Winner at "Cars Of The World" held in December 2007, right after our Concours.

Our 2007 Concours for the first time introduced the Master Class. This is the Class for the Best of the Best where class winners from the past two years compete against one another.

Keith and Enid have owned and continuously used this car since 1985 and in '88 purchased a BJ7 to use while the BN1 was restored. Well, the BJ7 went after 10 years and the BN1 project didn't start until late 2005, but the delay has been worth it. "Black Bess" has morphed into a blue beauty.

This car also won our John Hope memorial Trophy for the Most Original Car at the Concours.

Warren and Liana Ward - Winners of the BJ8 Convertible Class.

Warren and Liana have owned their car since 1991 and been members of our club since '92. Sometime in '98 Warren commenced a full restoration of the car and the final touches were applied by The Healey Factory in 2000. In 2002 they took their car to the Queensland National Rally where it won the Best Car award. The Ward's have done 14,000 km since the restoration and have plans to keep on using and enjoying the car.

The Smith's won Best British Sports Car in the 2006 RACV Fly The Flag Tour with their BN1 and are even happier to win our Show Car Award against all Healey comers at the 2007 Concours D'Elegance.
