TECHNICAL SUPPORT
Many of us enjoy
tinkering with our Austin Healey's and from time to time have need
of technical support, whether by engaging a professional or by
conducting "how to" research. Well, here's some thoughts on how you
might proceed.
First and foremost, if
it's a source of professional technical support you require, then
seek out the appropriate contact from our Preferred
Service Suppliers. If
however you want to get more directly involved as opposed to simply
spraying money at the issue, then read on.
Given that you are here
surfing the web, have a look at our "serial publishers" across the
world. If you have a Healey technical problem, then somewhere
through the course of the past 50 years, someone has probably
published their thoughts on the issue.
Our brothers at the
BGAHC have through Jim Werner assembled a multitude of interesting
technical articles and tips. The link will take you
straight to their Technical Articles, but when you've finished
there, tour around their website. There is heaps of good stuff
here.
Again, the same
comments apply. When you've finished, look down the bottom of
the page to find other links, or to go to their home page and
another world of material.
The same comments
really. You are presented with a compact subject list to zero in on
your area of interest.
Whilst this is a
competitor to our local parts professionals, they have devoted a
large amount of effort to Technical Tips, which is exactly
where the link leads you.

Other sites of
particular interest;
Larry Varley
has some interesting stuff on his website. It's not all
technical articles but there is that and more. Take your time
touring around in this site because Larry have been collecting
and publishing for years. He's the Healey Web Guru in Australia.
The AHOC NSW have a Technical Articles section in their
website. It's new and there is already useful and interesting original
material there, along with that on
Chris Dimmock's site.
Finally, you should not
lose sight of the fact we have many members who have done it all
before. Whatever the subject, if you spend time with your fellow
members you will pretty soon find one who has faced the same issues
as you. Then of course there is the club library.
Oh......and if all else fails, go and purchase a workshop manual !
Come along to our
meetings on the 1st Thursday of the month and have a drink at our
bar.............if you have read this far I reckon you can honestly put it down to research.
