Naturally, in a club like
ours we encourage participation by the broad sweep of
members and their interests vary from primarily social
activities through to competition on the track.
Achievements in a variety of areas
are recognised at our annual Presentation Night. Winners were presented
with their awards at our function held on December 9th 2006 at the
Carlton Crest Hotel, Albert Park (Melbourne).
Given the emphasis on service to the club
you will be interested to know that we admitted three new Life Members
for the first time in many, many years. We present here their names and
a brief overview of their service to the club and involvement with the
Marque;

John Gray
Purchased his first Healey in 1966, a 100/4.
John would have to be knows as a Serial Collector having owned 32 Healey's
to date. Those have included some historically very notable vehicles
including - 2 of the 100S', NOJ the prototype Healey 100, the prototype
Healey 4000, the Pat Moss factory Rally Car and a Supercharged Sebring Mk

Rob Rowland
Purchased his first Healey in 1972, a 100/6.
Since that time he has owned something like 20, but as you know, Rob has
seen so many come and go with his business it's hard to keep track.
He first joined Committee in 1973 and over 20
years has held the positions of President, Social Secretary, Membership
Secretary, National Rally Delegate, Spare Parts Coordinator (we used to be
a provider of spares) and National Rally Committee Member.
Looking back at special interest items, Rob
vividly recalls participating in the Austin Healey race at Bathurst in 1998. His Austin Healey
racing interests are perhaps typified by the awards he has won - Alan
Jones Trophy Winner 1985 and the Competition Championship in 1976, 82, 83,
90 & 91. For service to the club he has also won the Club Champion
award in 1990 and 1991.
